The Missing Link in Supporting Computational and Data Driven Research

Supporting research computing at Penn State's campuses is becoming increasingly challenging, especially in the era of fiscal conservatism. This panel will provide a two-way dialog between central resources (such as ICDS) and departmental/campus support staff working with research faculty. The panel intends to inform support staff of available resources and tools as well as identify areas of improvement and future growth.

Digital Signage Made Easy - How to Add Automation to Your Digital Displays

Digital signage. We see it everywhere across our campuses: in public spaces, classroom buildings, offices, sporting facilities, and more. Maybe you’re even considering adding a new sign somewhere. No matter the location, we all face the same challenge: how to continually create new and fresh content to display on those screens. In this session, I’ll talk about some ways to get more out of your signs by sharing content from other units as well as using existing data sources (25Live, RSS feeds, XML data, etc.) to automate features on your displays.

  • Overview of configuration, monitoring and reporting of Windows Firewall rule sets across hundreds of Windows Servers.
